More Bus Routes for Bikers.

Bicyclists in central Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom recently received some encouraging news. The Green Mountain Transit Agency, in cooperation with Rural Community Transit, announced that there will be a new bus route between Montpelier and St. Johnsbury. Each bus will have room to mount two bicycles on the front rack. Stagecoach announced that it will be offering a commuter route between Montpelier and Randolph. If towns approve the local funding match at spring town meeting, the new services may begin in April, 2010. The Coalition hopes that this expansion of mass transit is an indicator of more transportation options to come for Vermont residents.
