
AUGUST 2002 BOARD MINUTESWaterbury: Monday, August 26, 2002 Attending: George Plumb, Bunky Bernstein, Dave Jacobowitz, Kathy Davidow, Jan McCleery, Bruce Cunningham, Len Lamoureux, Rich Warren, Bob Atchinson, Bud Haas Meeting called to order by President, Bunky at 6:10 pm Minutes for June 10, 2002, Board Meeting: Approved. Introductions made and agenda reviewed. Old Executive DirectorÎs Report: George reported attending interview with Becka for the VT SafeKids Training Grant.(rodeos). Also the VAOT Bicycle Safety Coordination and Education Grant was submitted on time. George thanked Len for his help in getting the grant together. New Executive Directory’s Contract: MOTION: To authorize Bunky to sign Becka RoolfÎs Contract for the term August 16, 2002 to Feb. 15, 2003. Motion Approved. New Executive Director’s Report and Proposals: America Bikes: MOTION to øsign onÓ as a supporter of the America Bikes National Agenda, which includes a) Provide Safe Routes to School, b) Create Bicycle Friendly Transportation System, and c) Strengthen Enhancements, CMAQ, and other TEA-21 Programs. Motion Approved. VBPC 2nd Annual Bike Ride and Potluck: Kathy, project manager, reported on planning and publicity for the rides (Roxbury base, Sat. October 7, Raindate Oct 8).
2002 Budget: Becka proposed 2002 Budget showing Actual YTD, Revised Anticipated, Revised Budget Total, and Interim budget (pending receipt of Grant moneys). Amy and Board Members cautioned that grant money was only to be counted on when grant actually granted. MOTION: To Accept BeckaÎs proposed Budget. Motion Approved. Workplan: For August-September 2002 and ensuing 12 months. MOTION: To accept the proposed Workplan for August-September 2002. Motion Approved. BOARD APPOINTMENT: MOTION: To elect Rick Good as a returned member of the Board of Directors, with Term Expiring October 2002. Motion Approved. Board Membership now stands at 13. L.A.B. Road 1 Safe Training: Set for Sat Sep 7 at Catamount Family Center, Williston, for last springÎs LAB trained trainers. George reported 4 or 5 open slots. $30 if you will be a trainer in the schools, $60 no commitment. Write-call Becka if interested. ANNUAL MEETING: Board agreed to hold the Annual Meeting of the Corporation following the 2nd Annual Bike Ride and Potluck in Roxbury. Bunky agreed to organize Annual Meeting. Becka to advertise as required by the Bylaws. MEMBERSHIP: As part of the approved Workplan, Becka distributed Membership Lists to assist Board Members in getting 5 new members each.
